Writer's Block: Animal Instinct

What creature would you choose as your spirit animal?

A tiger maybe? Something instinctual.

*sigh* Is that a word? I am never sure.

Up to Par?

I am glad to find out that my abilities are up to the task at hand. As I said to Buffy, it's one thing to work out only in a gym, and another to actually be in the field, so to speak.

I want to cook for everyone soon. My food might be a little strange to you all, but I think that it is at least worth a try, yes?

Apparently, because I know what goes on with us, I am a Schizotypal personality or something. Buffy, where did you find this thing? I don't think it's right.

New to America

Being in America is much different than I was expecting. If I were basing my experience on what I have seen in movies, I would first note that there are a lot less car chases and shoot outs. Of course, I knew that this was a little not true. One thing that did surprise me, though, was the apartment space. In Moscow, my parents, my grandparents, and I all lived in a two bedroom apartment (I sleep in the living room as the youngest). Here, the living room of apartments is the size of our entire apartment in Moscow! I am very shocked that space isn't better used here. I am also a little surprised that there are even empty apartments to rent. In honesty, we have to wait until someone dies for an apartment to open up, and then usually the children of the deceased is waiting for it.

Other than much culture shock, things are OK so far. I think I might like it here. Hopefully no one shoots me before I get fully acclimated. (Just kidding!)Now I must find a job so that I will have money to do things in this city, like attend college functions and the like. Even as a physics major, I cannot just study all of the time, yes?

Character Questions

1) Do you believe in soul mates? Why or Why not? I think that it's a very nice concept, but I'm not sure about it in practice. What if your soul mate is on the other side of the planet, or forty years younger than you? It's not very practical. It sounds lovely, though.
2) What do you do, if anything, to celebrate Valentine's day? I'm sure that I will be doing something with Jonathan this year, but we haven't exactly made plans yet. We didn't have a Valentine's day in Russia, so this is only my second, and my first with a boyfriend.
3) Have you ever had your heart broken? I'm only seventeen. I don't think that I've had the chance yet. I hope I never do, though!
4) What is your ideal date? As long as it's with Jonathan, I don't really care what we do. I know that sounds silly, but it's true.
5) Is romance dead? Unappreciated, but not dead.

Character Questions

 1. What was the best Christmas gift you gave? The best one your received? My family doesn't really do much for Christmas. Sorry.

2. Do you wear a watch? Digital or analog? I have a regular analog watch.

3. What is the sickest you've ever been? I had pneumonia when I was 12 and had to go to the hospital. My fever was such that I was hallucinating.

4. Who was your best friend when you were little? What was he/she like? My closest friend when I was little was a boy named Nikolai. He was very active and we used to climb trees together all the time. We still write to each other all the time now that I live here, but it's hard sometimes because I can't tell him everything about my life.

5. How much do you know about the supernatural? How much would you like to know? Between my calling and the classes I take with OSI, I know a lot about the supernatural. I am always willing to learn more, though, if it will help me be a better potential Slayer.

Character Questions

1. Detail a plot/adventure that you'd like to take an active role in. I would like to help out others more. Sometimes, with all of the OSI stuff, it feels like I'm not actually doing any good, even though, from the looks of things, I'll never actually be a slayer. While I'm very grateful for that, it makes me feel as if I'm not actually helping out all that much. Working with Jonathan and the others does help this some, but even that only does so much.

2. How good a student are/were you? What is/was your favorite and least favorite subject? I like to think of myself as a very good student. Of course, my English was pretty bad when I first moved here, so my grades dipped a bit, but now they are back where I like them. My favorite subject is Calculus, and my least favorite is English, mostly because I don't get poetry. When English is your second language, reading poetry in it is awfully confusing.

3. Where do you work? How do you feel about your job? If you don't work, what do you do for money? I don't have a regular job, per say (my new phrase for the day), but I do work for OSI. My family does get a stipend from them once a month, which helps with bills. I may look into getting a real job soon, if I can find the time to have one.

4. What genre of books do you like to read? I have time to read? If I actually did, I'd probably read science fiction books, but I lack that extra time.

5. What's your favorite snackfood? Pancakes!

What I'm Thankful For

I am thankful for my family (even though I don't really get to see all of them now like I could before), my friends, Jonathan, and having the training to defend myself and others in this otherwise hell of a town.

I am *not* thankful for what slaying does to my hair and clothes. And for suicide bombers who throw knives at my head.

Character Questions

1. What would you do with a million dollars? With a thousand? A hundred? Ten?
I would probably put a good bit of money away if I had a million dollars. You know, for college. I'd also go visit my family back in Russia, and maybe take Jonathan with me if he wanted to go. If I had a thousand dollars, I'd save some and go shopping with some. If I had one hundred dollars, I'd take Jonathan out for an expensive dinner. I'd go buy some magazines with ten dollars.

2. What is your favorite television show? How often do you watch it? Why do you like it?
I haven't kept up with television since I was little and still watched Cheburashka. (For more info on the cute little mouse, go to Wikipedia and type in 'Cheburashka'. He's awesome.) I still have my Cheburashka doll, though. He sits on my dresser.

3. When did you lose your virginity? Was it an experience you later regretted?

Well, I haven't, to be honest. I haven't done anything more than kissed a boy, which seems to surprise people. I don't know why. Now this is causing strangeness with Jonathan because of Virgin loving demons, though.

4. What is/was your relationship with your grandparents like?
I love my grandparents. We used to live with them back in Russia, because of the housing shortages. It was a cramped space, but I miss it. They still send me packages all the time, but I wish that they were here.

5. Coke or Pepsi? Why?
I like Coke, because it was what I was used to drinking from home. Pepsi is a little harder to find in Russia.
